The 747 can be InterLinked to the 898 unit to share GPS data.

The 898 can use the DualBeam transducer that came with your 747 unit but not at the same time as the 747 is using it.

What you will need to get the most out of your unit will depend on how you can mount the HDSi transducer that came with your 898 unit and also how you want to mount it.  For example: many freshwater fishermen are installing the HDSi transducers up higher on the transom to protect them from damage by stumps and rocks.  They mount an inside-the-hull 2D DualBeam transducer inside-the-hull for superior 2D depth readings at high-speeds.  Can you post some images of the transom area of your boat or at least describe it?

Inside-the-hull mounting may work for your boat and it may not.  The only way to know is to try it and see.  We recommend a good quality marine grade slow cure two-part epoxy for this.  We sell an EPK Epoxy Kit just for this but you can also pick up some Devcon or other brand epoxy that will work for this as well.

To use the one inside-the-hull mounted transducer with two unit you will also have to buy and install a US2-W Unit Switch which will allow either unit use the same transducer one at a time but not both at once.  It will allow both units to display water temperature as well.

We also sell a few different true Thru-Hull transducers (mount to the boat through a hole that is drill up through the hull.

No we do not make a 1KW Si transducer.  The 1KW transducer mentioned is a huge 50/200kHz transducer that will require you to set the Transducer Select menu to the Dual 50/200 setting to use it.
