Title: Side Beam View using SI transducer
Post by: didier74 on March 09, 2013, 04:40:03 AM
Is it possible to have Side beam View
Using Side Imaging transducer ?
The two transducers working at 455 KHz, does having one Side Imaging transducer connected with following settings is it fine ?
  1-transducer select:quadrabeam
  2-side view frequency:455 KHz

Thanks for help
Sorry English not my first language...

Hi,

Yes, as far as I know that's possible. But I can't see the point in doing it since most things will be less good and efficiently displayed than with the standard transducer setting. The QuadraBeam transducer is a simpler transducer than the sideimaging transducers are. The only thing that might be better is the ability to indicate fish in the "sidebeams" with the QuadraBeam transducer. The algorithm for this probably doesn't work with a sideimaging transducer because of the very much narrower beam.

Thanks for your reply Rickard
Yes my idea was to see fish in the "sidebeams"
But if you think, doesn't work good, not going to waste my time with
