Title: My First Dumb Operations Question 998c
Post by: MTBob on March 23, 2013, 01:30:47 AM
OK, I got the 998c SI unit installed, transducers mounted, cables run and screen "lit up".  The water in Montana is still mostly solid so there's no way I can give the outfit a run.  So, I'd like to make sure that the transducers & GPS are connected properly and the system is working as it should.  Is there a way to tell if the unit is functioning properly while it's sitting in my shop?  Is there a system test function?

Yes, there is a diagnostic screen.

I haven't used it in a while, but I think you just have to enable it to be visible and you will see it when cycling thru the views.  I think you have to be in advanced mode first.

There is really no way to tell if your system is working correctly until the water thaws.
