power cable use

would it hurt to use my unfiltered power cable from my old pirahna max 20 on the 798 ci si head unit to just power it up in the house to run through simulator,update,and the general. im going to use the cable that came with it perm. in the boat. just wondering if that would work with out hurting something

dont see why you cant use it.  Wire is wire...Really should not make a diffewrence if you are using a battery or power supply....
Just remember to fuse the positive lead..
