will a 997 transducer work on a 998?

I had an extra transducer for my 997 and need to know if it will work on my new 998?

Yes it will Phill.  The only difference between the HDSi transducer shipped with the 997 units and the one we use now is that the current ones have an additional layer of RF interference shielding in them (this is not needed on all boats).
