859 wont power up
« on: April 04, 2019, 10:59:26 PM »
Have 2 units 859 and 998, not connected in any way except both hooked to crank battery. Yesterday at end of fishing day, Started main engine, 859 cut off, 998 kept power. Today 859 cursor light will light up but nothing else happens. Simple blank dark screen. Wont cut off, have to remove power from battery to shut down. Any ideas? Thanks possum1

Power issues when the big motor is cranked can be from a bad (or low) battery  ...or insufficient wire size to carry the needed amperage to run the unit   ...

You might think about temporary wiring the unit direct to the battery with just the 6' power cord that came with the unit to see if the unit is the problem or if the wiring circuit to the unit is the problem  ...
