WooHoo! 150 Members!
Well, we have hit the 150+ mark on our membership! I am glad to see more and more people joining and checking out the site. We have been averaging about 5 new members per day. Thanks so much to those who have shared their input and I look forward to more.
Whatever I can do to make things better or add things you guys would like just let me know! As you can see, I am constantly adding new features or changing a few things here and there. I have been thinking about categories for the Image Gallery and didn't know if there were any suggestions.
Also, you can have your own personal Image Gallery and create your own folders. Just FYI!
Thanks again to all the members and especially the "Guys at Humminbird" for helping out as well.
Lets keep it rolling!

A big thanks to you, Robert, for starting up the site; I hope it continues to grow. I haven't had much time lately to get on and post anything much. If and when I learn a little something to share, maybe I can post more. I do enjoy reading and learning from you and the others who post here. Thanks again.
-
Well, it's now been five months and we have been averaging about 100 new members per month. 500 and still growing!
Thanks to all the members who have helped so much and especially to "The Humminbird Guys"! Hey, maybe we could put that on a T-Shirt, like Best Buy has the Geek Squad, we could have "The Humminbird Guys".
But thanks again to everyone for making the forum a success!
Sincerely,
Robert Gecy

That's good news, Robert, and thanks for providing the site for us. I haven't had a chance to post much in a while, but I try to read all the new posts. Great information sharing by all.
-
I wasn't aware that the forum grows like this. Respect!
But looking on the member map shows that more people have signed in :).
And a big thanks to "our" Humminbird peolple as well from me.
Write me on the list for a shirt Robert!
Regards / Harry

I think that Robert's web site logo on a t-shirt would be cool...
-
Right Greg,
that looks cool. What about adding "Yes, we scan" to it?
Regards
Harry
-
Perfect!
I see a 2XL (maybe a 3XL) shirt in my future…
-
How about this for the front? Any ides for the back?
-
Looks cool Bob!
What about "Yes, we scan" on the back?
Or is that too close to Obama's slogan?
Regards / Harry
-
I kind of like the whole boat on the water image as well.
“Or is that too close to Obama's slogan?”
I thought it was “Yes we SCAM”!
I actually like how you have it in your signature Harry with “YES…” on one line and “We Scan” on a second line.
Anyone else come up with a slogan that can top this as I can’t. Those that read and understand it will get a chuckle and those that don’t may inquire about its meaning.
-
Great idea I'll take a black and blue in XL. How about "Yes we scan" next line
"why guess what's there?"
-
Okay Wizzo you’ve got me thinking here which can be really dangerous on a Friday! ;D
Maybe add the “Yes… We scan” below the logo on the front and have “Why guess what’s down there?” on the back just above a really nice Si image.
Robert were you going to have these professionally printed (silk screened) or would this be some sort of an iron-on transfer? I’m thinking here that if someone wanted to do the artwork that you could offer the images on your site for download to used as an iron-on transfer (I believe the image would have to be reversed for this but it may depend on the iron-on transfer material). We used some of these many years ago for Cub Scouts and they worked well enough to last as long as a t-shirt lasts with boys that age. You could even offer an image of the month transfer download if there were some sort of a Si image competition. Not sure how well these images would work as they would have to be enlarged… just an idea though.
-
I was going to have them silk screened. I have done the iron on transfers and they do ok, but silk screening would really be nice.
Robert
-
Silk-screening is much nicer and more durable than the iron-on transfers Robert. I was just thinking of a way to be able to change an image on the backs of the shirts easily and at a low cost. Of course if you set up your own silk-screening shop it wouldn’t cost so much! I looked into doing this for some Cub Scout and later Boy Scout class B shirts but we did not pursue it due to how long the shirt itself would last with these guys. Of course you could just put the front logo and text on the back and we could put our own image on there…
So: how much are these shirts going to cost and when do we start ordering them?

Wow, I really like this idea Greg!
And I also love the “Why guess what’s down there?” as a slogan Whizzo!
Let's get this thing rolling!

What about "Don't Guess"
-
Hm, that might be too short John.
Insiders would propably know what it means, but outsiders might not inquire.
Something else came to my mind as I was on the boat today:
What about a small printed warning advice as a joke to emphasize how good the units are?
Like:
"Warning!
Humminbird SI technologies may cause addiction.
Extensive use might damage marriages and wallets.
Jealousy of tournament competitors guaranteed.
If you can't stand this ----> keep guessing!"
Did I forget something?? Shoot !

Now Harry, You know as well as I, that our wives let us spend the money for our toys.... lol. That won't work
-
Hm, right Whizzo!
Changed...
-
How about this?
Stop guessing......
(then a Side Imaging Snapshot in betweeen)
WARNING:

Side effects may include unusual jeolousy from fellow anglers with occassional screen size envy.
You may also noticed an increase in the use of the phrase "Let's take your boat!"
If symptoms continue for more than 4 hours, please seek immiated medical attention!

Wow,
I like that! And I don't think it's too long Hendrik.
I would like to see this on the shirt, but just small printed (like the infamous small printed article in a contract, which one should read very closely). It would be like a hidden joke and people get closer to see what's written there.
And in the end of Bob's phrase add:
If you're not ready for this ----> Keep guessing!!

Hm,
as long as these people don't have a natural beard growth and are not overweight like a freight train. Why not waste some Scan Time with them ;D??

Ok, Here it is! What do you guys think?
The Warning Text Reads:
WARNING: Humminbird Side Imaging Technology may be addictive!

Side effects may include unusual jealousy from fellow anglers with occasional screen size envy.

Yes!!
Looks awsome!
But I miss the "Let's take your boat". That 's just too good to be left out.
Any word about the price Bob?
/ Harry
-
The price is going to be $20 US plus shipping.
I am going to post a link so everyone can place their orders electronically via PayPal. On the first order, there will be a 2 week lead time for printing.
Robert
-
I would add an “n” to “know” in the second line of the warning text as I believe it should be “known”.
Like the “If you’re not ready for this… Keep Guessing!”
Looks awesome!
Is that the image you will print or are you going to take submissions for a different image?
I may have to try and talk my Wifey into a PayPal account…
-
OK, the T-Shirts have been formally approved by Humminbird! Sorry I haven't gotten back to this for some time now, they actually were approved weeks ago!
I am going to send out an email with info on how to order and pay.
Thanks for all the input and help!
Robert
