Title: Can 2 units share a HDSI transducer
Post by: BrianL on April 28, 2014, 12:35:26 PM
I have a 1198 and 798.  I have 2 stations for 798 (bow and rear portside).  HDSI 180T connected to 1198.  Compact sidescan connected to bow mount station.  No transducer to rear port station.

I have 3 stations on ethernet running thru 5 port switch.

Will I be able to run 2 units at the same time using the HDSI transducer and see sonar equally on both units?

Thanks, Brian

Yes you can Brian, assuming that is a 798ci HD Si model unit and both have updated software in them.  You should be able to share the HDSi sonar data with the 798ci HD Si unit but only the 200/83kHz 2D and 455kHz Si/Di sonar data as the 798ci HD Si unit does not have the programming or circuitry for the 800kHz Si/Di sonar data.
