Title: SAR Location
Post by: sonar2000 on April 19, 2010, 08:56:20 AM
For the SAR guys.  Please check your profile and see if you share your location with us. From time to time we look for a specific location to see who might be able to help with a search.  HB has a great tool in sonar and this is very helpful as most cannot afford the big pricy stuff.  HB SI also as good as the pricey units and in some cases better.  We see more HB sonar these days than the big guys.

Something that will help with a member sort is to list the State first then the City.

(NC, Henderson)

Thanks for any help  in this area and dont be suprised if you get a call for help.

Sonar2000,

Great idea.  The problem with the profiles is that it only lets you select one catagory. So for example, even though I have selected fishing as primary use, I also make myself available for the local emergency services if they need my rig.  Even if you where to look at the map, you would still have to figure out which ones are willing to participate in SAR missions. Maybe set-up a SAR map or different colored map pins for individuals to be listed.

Just an idea. ;)

Good idea.  I have only talked to Robert briefly about this.    A primary and a secondary function is nice.  I like the map pins color also.  Or maybe a pin color that would indicate a dual purpose function.   Robert is the guru on code but has limited time. The best I can hope for now is to put in a "cry for help" and see who responds.
Thanks for helping and maybe new code will be coming.   ;D
Any other idea that can help short term will be appreciated.
