Humminbird Helix 10 SI G2N Issue
« on: January 07, 2017, 12:36:49 PM »
I'm having a problem with my brand new depth finder.  The problem is anytime I have down scan and side scan on the screen at the same time my right hand side of the side imaging goes blank or goes partially blank depending on which combo screen.  The DI and SI work amazingly with every other combo screen and alone but they cant be on the same screen.  I was told from the humminbird customer service maybe my boat speed is affecting it or maybe out of date software.  But the unit literally was just released two weeks ago and has no software updates.  I don't believe it to be an installation error because the side imaging has amazing quality and there's nothing blocking it nor is the boat listing to one side.  I will try and attach pictures to show that the side scan only blank wen I switch to any combo screen that has both down imaging and side imaging.  Thanks.

There are similar reports here ...

Try Restore Defaults ...

If that doesn't help - gather screenshots and call HB with offers to send them the screenshots ...

I think we have a software gremlin in the G2N that hasn't been nailed down yet ... the screenshots should help HB diagnose ...

That post you gave a link of is my issue that a guy was inquiring about.  I talked to troy on another forum and he posted that trying to gather Intel I guess.

I still think it's a software gremlin ...

Your screenshots show anomalies not normally seen with blockage issues ...

HB needs to see your screenshots ...

I agree with the software issu because it appears the unit is zooming out the right hand side scan.  Either way I hope they figure it out because I was looking to build my whole electronics setup around that depth finder and other helix models I'm looking at.
