helix gps question
« on: April 08, 2015, 11:28:26 PM »
Hi everyone I am new and this is my first post.
my question is when I am using the gps either on a stand alone screen or split screen the unit will not show depth. Where the depth reading normally is it shows speed. So then I have 2 speed readouts and no depth. Is there anything I can do about this? I primarily fish the sippi and need to know depth as well as know where the wing dams are.

Welcome to the Humminbird Side imaging Forums CATNIP.

You must have changed a setting somewhere as the water depth should be shown in those Views.  Two ways to correct this:

Easy way: use the Restore Defaults menu which is under the Set-up menu tab.  This wil reset all the menus back to the factory defaults which includes displaying the water depth on those Views.

Slightly harder way: go to the Select Readouts menu (under the Set-up tab) and select the Water Depth for the first digital readout position.  You will have to have the unit running in the “Advanced” setting in the User Mode menu (also under the Set-up menu tab).

From your user name I am assuming that you are after some of those monster Mississippi catfish?

Thanks Greg for the quick reply. And yes I am after those monster cats :) I did swap the readouts from top to bottom. They work on all other screens. I will switch them back and see if that works. Hopefully i will be able to get out Saturday night. Just had a baby so I'm walking on thin ice trying to get out so soon but I will let ya know how it works.  Thanks again!

Congrats on the new addition to the family!

Not all of the readout spaces show up on all Views, so that is probably what happened.

Thanks! :) hope to have her fishing soon. And I'll update the post next time I get the boat wet.

Yep swapping the depth reading back to the top cured the problem.  Thanks!
