Title: SI Fish Pictures
Post by: mako101 on September 01, 2012, 03:40:00 PM
Hi Guys, have been recording with the 798 ci SI HD and this is the first screen capture where you could definitely say these are fish! On the first pass there was nothing showing on this drop off, but on the second pass there was a school of fish showing on side imaging, down imaging, 2D sonar(83Khz) and 2Dsonar(200Khz). It is a shallow area and this is the deepest part. It seems like the fish in this area schooled up and moved into the deeper water for protection after the boat passed the first time. Similarly bait fish will form into a bait ball when under attack from predatory fish. The lesson here is to scan more than once. The fish are most likely Australian Barramundi as one was caught here trolling. Please leave a comment.

mako101,
Do you have any screen snapshots from your 798 unit that you could post?
Pics of the Barramundi would be nice as well!
