Help With HumminbirdPC and Windows 7 Professional
« on: May 27, 2014, 11:29:33 AM »
Bought a new computer with Windows 7 Professional.  After setting it up and installing Office XP Professional I installed HumminbirdPC and everything worked fine.  About a week later I installed COMODO firewall and after the installation and reboot Windows did an update.  Ever since then I get "HumminbirdPC.exe has stopped working" message when I try to run it.  I've uninstalled HBPC and did a re-install several times with the same results.  I NEED HELP!!

I would look through the 'COMODO' documentation and see if there
is anything about trusted applications.
There may be a 'COMODO' system file, where you can enter in application names that it does not recognize.

Although, I don't think that HumminbirdPC is a installed running application.
I think the operating system just loads it when needed, then clears it upon user exit.

Not sure.

Thanks ITGEEK.  One of my sons did some checking and found that its BITDEFENDER anti-virus that's causing the problem.  When its disabled HBPC will run, when its active it will not.  Has anyone run up against this problem?

Bayou:
Here's a shot in the dark: Uninstall HumminbirdPC, and re-install with
BITDEFENDER running.

Thanks for the reply.  We have tried that with no success.  We are going to contact Bitdefender to see if they can give us a fix.

Thanks again.
