ALL SI Models - Distance counter
« on: July 07, 2012, 12:42:34 AM »
Model:
ALL SI Models
Suggested Upgrade:
Distance counter
Explanation:
When I,m trolling flat lines or planers or the down rigger or what ever, say my line counters say 220 feet when I reach the outside edge of the way point and start my turn I could press a button and it would start counting distance from that position so I'll know approximately when to start making my turn so the flat lines will be in close proximity to the way point. This is not another way point. Just a temporary distance indicator. When I press the button again the counter would need to close. This would be really helpful in maintaining my lures in the strike zone:)

A couple of possible work arounds for you to try:

Try using the GOTO function on your unit.  Set it for the waypoint you are traveling to and it will show the distance to the waypoint – even after you have passed it.  I think that you have to set the Continuous Navigation Mode menu to “On” for this.

You could also try setting a Target on the waypoint as it shows distance lines from the waypoint.
