Using 1198 and 999, some of my recordings are compressed down to approximately 3/8 of an inch. The recordings will play on the unit and I can use crop to open up part of the recording but I lose the value of Humviewer since I am using my systems for search and Recovery. What causes this please and how do I fix it? It happens using different transducers and antennas.

I don't recall ever hearing of this issue ...
You might try making a copy of the RECORD folder and experiment with deleting certain "Bxxx" files (in the Rxxx folder) to see if 1 of the "Bxxx" files may be corrupt somehow ...
