I get a good signal in my garage.
The signal is going through the garage roof, a bunch of insulation,
then the garage ceiling.

It might work fine.

with the new GRS50 we get signal (very good) thru two floors of building and then the roof. Most of the time we are sync'd to 5 or 6 very good levels of signal..

I would think the bimini top by its self will be no problem..
You should be happy..

The 5 or 6 was in the building.  Outside we have seen up to 10.
The grs50 is fast on accquiring signal and very positive.
Accuracy was also an improvement on the 50...

As long as there is no metal in the top itself (the rigid bars can only block a very little area and should not be a worry) there should not be a problem.  I looked at bimini tops many years ago for a company boat and found one that was silver.  It had metal woven into the fabric itself which would have been a problem… If you are all cloth it should not be a problem though.

You can check it for yourself though by looking at the Estimated Position Error number both with and without the bimini top in place.

The bimini tops are probably all plastic.  the rescue sq here has three carolina skiffs with bimini and the 1198's work fine  with the antenna on the console..
this is not to  say that a particular installatin may have issues.  We are just saying dont be too alarmed as what you have should work fine.
