Title: Have glue on mounts stood the test of time & how to mount transducer?

I have a 14' Semi-V aluminum boat I am planning on mounting a transducer for a Helix 7 SI unit and could use some help on understanding where to mount it. I especially don't see how the SI beam is going to get past the motor without being blocked or at least affected. Can anyone help me or at least refer me to a good article that can?

I'm also curious if glue on mounting boards like the Stern Saver have stood the test of time? Or is it better to drill holes in your boat? My boat is a heavy duty all welded boat with no holes and I prefer to keep it with no holes but I don't want to risk ruining my transducer if those things have a habit of coming off.

Mounting boards like the Stern Saver are a good option for mounting a transducer  ... especially if the transducer needs to be tweaked in position changes for optimum performance  ... (but most would glue and screw the mounting board to the transom)  ...

An installation with a SI transducer on the transom can sometimes be challenging getting the motor high enough to not block the opposing SI beam  ...

Some use a 2nd SI transducer on the opposite side of the transom using 9 M SILR Y cable which allows getting the left SI data from the port side mounted SI transducer  ...
