I did.  Screen speed in the simulator was crazy fast so I went back to an older software.  To be fair though, I never tried the new software on the water.

I did on my 1197/998 units.

I was on the water for about 8-9 hours fishing with the new 6.600.  The 998 had some glitches.
http://www.bbcboards.net/humminbird-sonar-gps/336721-6-600-998csi-issues.html

I did not experience the 998 sonar glitches on the 1197.  I have reserved judgement on 1197 sofar, need more time.

Major 1197 issue I observed was the 1197 crashed when I was diagnosing the 998 and switch the local 998 HDSI transducer to use the 1197's HDSI transducer via ethernet.

Minor issues:
1197 paused(hung for a time) when switching screens thru the Bird's-Eye View screen.

All 1197 Menu buttons were unfunctioning when I was reloading all my Navigation Data from SD card.  So during the NAV Reload I was locked-out from the unit.   New design feature or software bug???
I have 300+ WP's, numerous tracks and use Grouping, so took a few minutes for the unit to be available.

I thought DI display was improved.  SI was same or maybe a little blurry.  Sonar intensity seemed a little higher, so I reduced to a 7-9 rather than a 10-12 setting.  All at 455kHz.  I forgot to test 800kHz(wished I had).

Still have 6.600 on both units.

Your issue of reversed sensitivity isn't solely related to your sonars.  I also experienced that issue yesterday with my 798HD.  It appeared that I was slowly losing sight of my jig, and then gone.  Restoring defaults brought it back.

Gazoo:
My 1197 won't let me do anything when waypoints are loading
in either.  I'm running 6.310 software.
Let's face it, the processor on the 1197 is just not very
powerful.
Your 998 probably has more computing speed than your 1197.

Yes.. Sonar was totally a mess. Sharpness gone. Almost looked like the pixels were going. Switched back to previous version.. All came back. Tried loading again ..same thing. Other little issues too.

I've been experiencing some lockups into the "PC connect" screen when changing views too quickly in my 1197....

I can't say that I'm getting any better SI or DI images as some have reported...

I also can't report on 2d issues because I use SI about 99.9% of the day...
