798 hookups
« on: January 23, 2014, 11:21:22 PM »
I am going to install a 798 si/di at the console and one at the bow. Would you guys recommend running both units off of one transducer mounted on the transom?  With some having interference issues with their trolling motors I was wondering if this hookup would be better?  And if so what kind of cable would I need to do this?

While the forums see many cases of TM interference...there are still countless others who have no interference issue at all ...and therefore no need for them to post in the forums...

You may or may not experience interference...every boat setup is different...and the only way to find out for sure is to mount the bow xducer on the TM and try it...

If you do find interference ...HB CS is great for working out interference issues with their customers...

If your 798 is the "HD" (HD in the model name)... it can use the same transom mount xducer as the console unit...either by Ethernet or using the HB US3 switch (and an EC W30 xducer extension cable)...

(The 798ci HD SI Combo would also need the AS EC QDE Ethernet adapter cable)...
