I am using a Helix10 since some month.
In the frist months I was recording the sonar logs.
Autochart was showing the SI log perfectly.
Then I installed a Mega360 transducer.
After uninstalling the Mega360 (forget 360 and restore defaults) the SI information does not show up in Autochart anymore.
Is there a "stronger" reset necessary to get the SI information logged again?

If no one pops in with help in your question - Humminbird may be able to help ...

The Humminbird support is not very helpful so far.
I told them that I have executed the menu points "forget M360" and restore defaults.
The recommendation of the Humminbird support was: that I shall execute the menu points "forget M360" and restore defaults.
Is there a possibility to force the sonar to reinstall the firmware again?
I guess this would reset everything.

Tried already?
Restore System Defaults
Use the following instructions to reset ALL menu settings to the factory defaults.
CAUTION! Use this menu with caution!
1. Main Menu: Press the MENU key twice. Select the Setup tab.
2. Select Restore Defaults.
3. Press the RIGHT Cursor key.
4. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the reset.

Yes - I restored the default factory settings - it did not work.
Thanks for the hint.
Best regards

It is not possible to install the same version of software that is already on the unit ...
It is sometimes possible to backdate to a previous software version - and then update again to the newest software ... (It is never recommended to backdate to a software version earlier than what came on the unit) ...
Humminbird might send you a previous software version ...

This sounds good - even if it seems to be a bit risky.
I will contact the Humminbird support with that proposal.
Thanks for answering.

Just to let you know.
The Humminbird support told me, there is no older software version.
It is a bug in the current software version and there will be a fix in one of the future software releases.

I have installed the latest update.
The bug is not corrected.
I am not using the 360 all the time.
Is there a possibility to reset the sonar to company defaults?
This would help for the time using the standard transducer.
I have read about holding down the on/off switch for 20 secs would perform a hard reset of the sonar.
Would this be a solution?

HB has never affirmed there is a “hard reset” procedure for HELIX units ... and as far as I know no one has ever found one (if it exists) ...
Restore Defaults does put the unit back to factory default settings but does not revert the original software that came on the unit ...

If you want you can send me your recordings. I can read and analyze them.
In the son files is a byte that identifies the beam (2D, SI left/right, DI).
I guess there is something wrong with autochart. Same problem with Humviewer.

thanks alot for your offer, but I would like to reset the sonar to the factory default (see next post).

Thanks Rickie for the quick reply.
I think that I have formulated my problem too misleading.
I bought my Helix10 and the 360 degree transducer last year.
Once I connected the 360 degree transducer, the logging of the SI data stopped working.
Now I have recently installed firmware version 2.180.
Although I did not have the 360 transducer connected, the firmware reported the 360 as connected.
I ran "forget 360" and "restore defaults".
Then the Helix recognized the standard transducer, but it did not execute the "restore defaults" command.
The logging of the SI-data of the plugged in standard transducer does not work either.
So my problem is that the command "restore defaults" is not executed.
Since I drive 90% of my time with the standard transducer, it would be enough for me if I could reset the Helix to factory settings.
Then maybe the logging of the SI data with the default transducer would also work again.
Is there another solution besides "restore defaults" to reset the Helix to factory settings?

You might contact HB again with your serial number handy and ask them what version of software came on that unit originally ...
Then come here with new post asking if anyone would have that software version for your specific unit model ...

Thanks alot, Rickie.
I'm going to do it this way.

Last year my Helix 10 had the version V2.180 installed.
I also got this firmware version downloaded now.
When I upgraded to V2.280 I also installed the new basemap.
When I now switch back to V2.180 may this produce a conflict or problem?

Humminbird actually rarely recommends backdating software but some have successfully to rectify problems ...
The best scenario would be to get the unit back to Humminbird for repair ... but that may not be feasible in your case ...
It might be a good idea to contact Humminbird again and explain that you have updated firmware and basemap and what would be their recommendation on backdating to original software ...
