Title: Bricked Solix, please help if you can
Post by: nrgbentall on August 26, 2018, 05:04:56 AM
Having a slight problem with my Solix after performing an upgrade to 3.230 unit, after power on after a few minutes unit goes to this screen

[attachimg=1]
Then crashes and reboots on this screen

[attachimg=2]

Does anyone know of a recovery mode or bootstrap option on a Solix, or a way to transfer the operating software across from sd card / Nmea /ethernet.

Any help much appreciated
Nick

The only advice I can give is to disconnect everything from the unit except power and xducer, remove any SD cards, and test on a known good power supply..

Here is some contact info  ...:

Thanks for you suggestion. I have nothing connected to the unit except power, voltage is good.

I feel the unit must have a bootloader accessible at boot up as it's linux based, just don't know combination of buttons required to access it

Anyone have any further ideas? I'm based in the UK so not the easiest to return the unit to Humminbird

Thanks in advance

Did you have the ducer connected as well?

You said only the power cord was connected, I'm just asking here.

Voltage doesn't matter nearly as much as amperage. The Solix 15 is an amp hog. I'm betting this is an amp issue (i.e. battery, wire, wire connections, etc.)
