Solution for viewing 798ci si 2010 model?
« on: April 05, 2011, 10:56:58 PM »
Hi,

I posted on another forum, but thought I would try to get help here too.....What I am trying to accomplish is hooking a large screen/tv/monitor up at the bow so I can watch the 798ci si output from the console....

Is this at all possible????

Thank you!!!

I have a 798ci si 2010 model and to my knowledge, there is no way to output to a larger monitor.  I ended up buying a 998c si for the console and moved my 798 to the bow.

No way that I know of either.  It would be nice though.  Even if you have 2011 models it would require a HB Si unit on the bow.  They have not announced any interface to a laptop or non-HB unit.   I am not that familiar with the higher end models.  Maybe one of them has a video out, but don't remember seeing any discussion on that.

Except for the earlier 900 series units (before the 958c and 998c Si models); all the 800 and 1100 series units have Video Output capability FuzzyG.

Now with the new 798ci HD Si unit and its Ethernet connection I don’t know if that would be a future possible accessory or not.  My guess would be “No” as I don’t think that we would sell a lot of them seeing as you could spend a few hundred or so more for a 898c Si unit that has video output already on it.  Plus you need to look at the cost or waterproof monitors as I understand it is almost cheaper to buy a second Si unit.
