Title: Di, Si, 2D, dual beam, quad beam majorly confused...
Post by: honda460ex on December 29, 2012, 10:21:58 AM
Sorry guys, still majorly new to this and needing help. I have a 788ci at the trolling motor with a dual beam transducer. I've been told i can get a quadrabeam transducer to get a side image view in a 2d. Is this true? Also, is there a benefit of running a quadrabeam on my 898c Si that sits at my console? It currently has two transducers. One is the Si transducer and the other is a dualbeam for operation at higher speeds. Would it benifit me at high speeds to change the dual out for a quad? If so, what's the perks and drawbacks? Would i need a switch to flip between the two transducers or just select it from my unit each time i go to run and come back to an idle? Sorry, a lot of questions flying in here.

Good questions.  Yes you can get a switch to go between the two transducers. You may have to select the transducer type on your display.

The switch is the TS3 .... also look at this link to HB site..https://www.google.com/url?q=http://store.humminbird.com/media/document/TS3.pdf&sa=U&ei=TQzfUKyFM4Lh0gHi8oHoBw&ved=0CAcQFjAA&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNF4oNQSTlgiN0W0KurlXNPU56YHOQ (https://www.google.com/url?q=http://store.humminbird.com/media/document/TS3.pdf&sa=U&ei=TQzfUKyFM4Lh0gHi8oHoBw&ved=0CAcQFjAA&client=internal-uds-cse&usg=AFQjCNF4oNQSTlgiN0W0KurlXNPU56YHOQ)
We use this switch to go between two ducers and it works well...
