Down Imaging
« on: January 17, 2010, 09:58:49 AM »
I installed the latest software this morning, and it really looks impressive, just reviewing some of my recordings.  Too windy to get out on the water today, but I'm anxious to test the down image.  Excited!  Thanks to HB for the free stuff; it's gonna be a really nice addition, I think, as soon as I can figure out all the new screens and color palettes.
Has anyone had a chance to get any screen shots with their 797/798 units?

Well, the weather around here, along with other commitments, has prevented me from getting onto the water to test the new software, but hopefully tomorrow will be the day.  Does anyone have any info on the best colors or settings to use with the 797?

I got on the water yesterday for the first calm day test.  I was having trouble with a dark screen, trying different settings and color palettes, etc.  Toward the end, I turned the switchfire to clear mode, and that helped a lot.  Unfortunately, I had run out of time.  I hope to get back out today or Monday and try it some more.  Looks very promising so far, and the standard down sonar screen seems to be easier to read since the update.
