Title: in hull puck transducer with 1158
Post by: choc_e on February 15, 2012, 03:58:02 AM
I am about to put a 1158 into my new catamaran. I was wondering if anyone had used the xp9 with this unit and if so how well it worked?

Thanks

Ryan

Ryan,
The circuitry for the 200/83kHz sonar of the 1158c unit is the same as the 200/83kHz sonar in the 858c,  898c Si,  958c,  998c Si,  and 1198c Si units.  So anyone that has been using an XP-9-20 transducer with these units should be able to comment.

I use it with my 998 and it works great; reads bottom at all speeds, and I can't tell any difference in sensitivity, either.

Thanks, I think I will pick one up, they're quite cheap compared to the transom mount.
