Title: 1197 issues
Post by: lilmule on May 04, 2014, 09:31:55 AM
version 6.640
Lots of screen clutter in switchfire or di,reads depth fine even at speed as have splitter cable and dual beam.
No fish id like a pic of a fish and have seen arches but not always possibly the clutter keeps me from it.Its not interfearance from outboard.
Also gps map when one enlarges to full screen it goes to a blank white uni map with nav aids, half screen it shows the contour lines?

Hey lilmule and welcome to the Humminbird Side Imaging Forums.

Do you have any screen snapshots of the 2D sonar and Di sonar?
Are you meaning that you are not seeing any Fish ID Symbols or sonar targets from fish?
Is the above because of the clutter you are seeing?
Is this clutter happening when the boat is drifting and all other electronic devices, motors and pumps are shut off?
What software version are you running in your 1197 unit?
Try looking at a different area of the lake map when you use the full screen View to see if it happens there or is it restricted to certain areas.

I havnt a clue as to what to push to do a screeen shot, and does the mmc card need to be in or can that be done later, have no manual.
Found most of my problems fixed under various menu options.
I have had but one screen id loved to have a pic of a stack of crappie in 22 ft of water built like an xmas tree wider at the bottom coming up 12 off the bottom,I am not however seeing a fish symbol did have arches on that day.
As stated above first post version 6.640

I posted on the other forum how to make a screen snapshot but here goes again:

With a memory card installed in the unit; go to the Accessories menu tab.  Scroll down to the Screen Snapshot menu and set it to “On”.  When you press the MARK button the unit will save a *.PNG picture file to the installed memory card and Mark a waypoint.

Sorry, I miss the software version.

Forgot to ask: what Beam Select menu setting are you using?
