Title: Turning on 598 on land
Post by: Sam on December 18, 2013, 01:38:14 PM
I'm new to Forums and new to my 598ci SI HD. So my newbie question: I left the unit on for many hours in my garage, not in Simulater Mode. Later I was talking to a Humminbird tech and by accident, found out that it would burn the transponder out if left on for very long out of water. My 183 page Manual does not warn of this. The tech explained that Simulater Mode was safe when using out of water as was regular mode if Sonar was turned off. So did I do the transponder harm? The control head?
