Title: Viewing recorded screen shots
Post by: Spnb8 on August 10, 2010, 10:59:34 PM
My new 998c SI and 798c SI are being installed even as I write this. My question may be answered when I get my owner's manual and start studying the bejeezus out of it, However:  in various posts in this forum I see references to "Humminbird PC" and "Humviewer". Are these devices required (extra cost option) to view screen shots that are saved to an SD card or can I just put the card into my desktop card slot and see the picture like I would any other .jpg picture? Is there an easily undersood tutorial somewhere explaining how to save screen shots to an SD card and then see them on my PC.  My computer knowledge consists of being able to the silly thing on, therefore any easily understood answer or reference to answer will be greatly appreciated. ;D

spnb8  well first off welcome to the forum when you get your units get online
go to HB support register your units then you can go to your account and
see the latest upgrades. you will need to download HB PC on your desktop
You can down load humviewer from this forum to your desktop.when you get your new HB"S go out on the lake take snapshots and take recordings
they will both go on your sd card.take your sd card out and put it in your pc
open the drive you will see matrix that will go to HBPC the snapshots can be opened by the pc viewer the recordings will need to be opened by humviewer or another 3rd party viewer.I use yellowfin and humviewer
good luck .  Gary :)
