My 797csi is only showing the right half of side imaging. Left side is blank...also the 2d color display seems to missing information as well...sporadic colors top and bottom in full screen view.....depth reading is sporadic as well. Don't have anyone on the dock that has 797 installed so I am unable to see if it works on their transducer. Is there a good hardware reset that can be done...or is the back to default the only option? Was pressed for time yesterday and didn't get to play around with it much.

The Restore Defaults is the only reset in these units wickerbill.
See if you can find someone with a Humminbird Side Imaging unit – nay model not just the 797c Si. Just use their power cable and transducer and test their unit on your boat if possible. This will show where the problem is at (unit or boat).
You can test the 2D sonar on the transducer from just about any Humminbird unit except for the models with “DI” or “3D” in their names.
Otherwise your best bet would be to call the Humminbird Customer resource folks and set it all up to ship in your unit and transducer for testing.
