Title: 798 unit locking up during video playback...any help is appreciated.

Hello everyone,

I have a 798 CI HDSI unit that works well except for one issue. I can record video just fine, however while watching the video playback on the unit, it locks up when I hit the cursor key. It will not allow me to mark anything, it just completely locks up to the point I have to pull the power. I have restored defaults and tried both several different SD cards, including a Sandisk exteme, class 10 card. Hummview will play the videos jsut fine. The unit will take snapshots, view snapshots, record video, play it back, etc. with no problems. When trying to mark any objects during video playback, the unit locks up at the touch of the cursor.

i believe this is a glich in software that will need to be addressed in future software update.call humminbird and let them no

I have the same unit and was locking up in several screens.  I tried the restore defaults too and called hummingbird.  They had me ship my unit to them.

Hope this helps, I have the same issue...but during playback if you hit the cursor it stops the video from playing, so what I do is press menu and go to playback speed and arrow to the right or left for reverse and then press exit and you can move the cursor and zoom or what ever you like. Also you can not take snap shots when in playback so I turn it off so that I can mark way-points.
