Newbie from Down Under
« on: November 29, 2010, 11:55:45 PM »
How are ya folk, looks like a great site,

just bought a 898c SI, and starting to learn the ropes.

First obsticle, registered my account with Humminbird.com, but won't let me log in.
Double checked when I filled out that everything was correct but no go.

Sent an email to them so I get to wait 3-5days , surf Youtube  and excellent forums like this until I get access to do the uploads.

Is there any faster way to contact Humminbird, I tried calling the help number and waited approx 30mins , but as from OZ it' s on premuim rates and had other committments.

anyway , will keep surfing and learning in the meantime,
cheers,  Dazz

You don't need the Humminbird site for software downloads.
All of them are on this site, just check the "Downloads" section in the menu at the top of this page.

Welcome to the forum Dazz,

make sure you hit the "log in" button if you want to log in at the HB site. Hitting the enter key doesn't work on the HB site.

Best regards from "up over" / Harry

If you are trying to call the Humminbird Customer Resource folks than make sure that you do so at 8:01 am Monday morning (Central Standard Time for U.S.).  Otherwise they could be quite busy the rest of the week.  Also consider the season here as many of our CRC Reps take vacation to be with family.

They should get to your e-mail in a few days though.  Make sure you are selecting the Login button as Harry stated.  I would download the software from this site until they get you straightened out.

Hi Dazz,
The  link below will teach you about adjusting your new
Humminbird Side Imaging Settings - How to Adjust

and contact BLA , Qld Australia and ask them to send you Tim Morgans instruction DVD on The Humminbird unit. I found it totally invaluable and very clear . I recently joined this forum and it has become a lifesaver when it comes to HB. Keep an eye out for info from Wayne P. and Rob Gecy on this site.

I'll include another link which has also been great for getting a handle on Side Imaging. This guy , Doug has some really great info on his  own web site as well
Humminbird Understanding the Side Imaging View

Geoff
