So when I bought my boat I had the dealership install a 596c hd on the bow.
They had the cable to the transducer on the trolling motor really tight. Well
occasionally hitting a couple of the rocks, the casing where the cable meets
the transducer has came open exposing the wires inside. At first I lost down
imaging about 6 months ago, and about a month ago I lost all depth readings.
It says "1 foot" the whole time. First question is if I can get more slack, is there
a way to possibly splice it and repair? If not which transducer do I need to replace it. Thanks

It does not sound like there will be enough room to splice the cable, so you may want to look at just replacing it. Since this is a DI model unit you need to get a new XTM-9-DI-25-T transducer.

I believe there's about 10 extra feet of cable coiled up underneath the
the bow deck. I think the dealership just wanted the cable to look streamline,
so they kept everything tight. So is there a way to open the transducer and
splice and soder the wires to the contacts? I've attached a pic of what I'm
dealing with

my cable has done the same thing, although I'm still getting depth and DI readings, I'm a little suspect that it may be a source of the interference I'm having that I continue to chase my tail with.
But I think the only remedy is to get a new xducer, and I believe the ones specific to trolling motor use have more or either better shielding in them.

That transducer number you just posted
doesn't look like the one I have now. Is
that the one recommended for trolling motors?
And it will work with my 596c hd di right?

Rigging that cable so tightly could have added to this happening. That is a rubber grommet and also a strain relief to keep the cable from pulling on the connections inside the transducer. The transducers are filled with epoxy so it would be extremely hard to tear one down to the point that you could re-solder the wires to the piezo elements inside. Even though the transducer is filled with epoxy; water can still wick down the wires themselves to the soldered connections and cause them to fail. Replacing the transducer is your best bet.
The XTM-9-DI-25-T is the made for the trolling motor version of the DI transducer for the 596c HD DI and many more Di model units. It does not use an adapter to fit to the trolling motor, only a pipe clamp. It does have additional shielding built into it that the transom mounted transducer do not have. This will help in shielding out any unwanted RF noise from things like the PWM circuitry in the trolling motor.
