Title: Configuring the serial port to set up communication with HumminbirdPC
Post by: Peter on May 24, 2010, 06:29:44 AM
Gents,

After successfully installing HumminbirdPC and having my cables (see topic "What cable to use for connecting 900/1100 series to a PC/laptop" http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?topic=627.0 (http://forums.sideimagingsoft.com/index.php?topic=627.0)) connected to my 1197, I am puzzled. There is no item in the HumminbirdPC menu where I have to configure the COM-Port.

I use a Belkin USB2Serial converter installed on the COM1. It works great with my SENSUS PRO (dive recorder from ReefNet) and my oxygen/helium analyser (DE-OX from TEMC). So clearly this interface works faultless. However, when I connect the 1197 to the COM1 nothing happens. The MMC/SD Tab works but I don't get the Unit Tab. Operating system is Windows Vista.

How do I configure HumminbirdPC in order to see/detect the 1197.

Thanks, Peter.

Hello Gents,

Problem solved. Instead of using the Belkin USB2Serial F5U103 which installs as a port, I am using now the ATEN USB2Serial which installs as a brigde.

Regards, Peter.
