Title: Moveable fish finder
Post by: fish-on-bend on November 01, 2011, 05:12:50 PM
I just ordered a 788ci hd di.   When I install it I want to be able to move it from the dash to the rear when I'm trolling.   Whats the easiest way to configure the wiring and transducer cable?

Easiest (and most expensive) way would be to set up a second station at the rear of your boat.  That would mean a second unit mount (MS-700E), power cable (PC-10) and either a second transducer (XNT-9-DI-T) or a Transducer Switch (TS3).

You may be able to install your unit such that there is enough wire length to use a RAM type mount with two bases and just move the unit with its mount and wiring connected from one location to the other.  More of a chance of tripping or snagging the cables this way though.
