Title: Onix not able to read SD card with Nav data from Humminbird PC
Post by: aholzhausen01 on April 27, 2014, 01:37:14 PM
Installed my new Onix 10 CI Combo and had problems reading the LakeMaster cards.  Finally started to work with no known relationship to the actions I tried.  That part is working now.  I then downloaded my old waypoints and tracks from my 898C SI using Humminbird PC to an SD card.  I confirmed that the correct data was on the SD card in Humminbird PC.  When I put it in my Onix and go to files to upload the data, my Onix doesn't see any data.  When I check it says that the card does not have humminbird data.  I'm wondering if I have a problem with the card reader in my Onix since I keep having these problems.  Any advice out there?

What is the file name and type on the SD card?
The ONIX/ION units use a *.GPX file format, so when using HummibirdPC you need to save your Nav Data as a *.GPX file and use your PC to save it to the SD card.

Thanks Greg,

I was using the normal upload function of Humminbird PC and getting a matrix folder with DATA.HWR,  001.ht, and   000.ht files.  I used the "save as" function to save the .GPX files to the card and the Onix loaded them.  Problem solved.
