Do you know if there will be any improved accessories for existing units.
Such as: improved higher resolution transducers?

That’s all I know of IT GEEK.
I doubt that there would be a higher resolution transducer as that would require another sonar frequency transducer which would mean a new PCB design and a new unit model – not just a software upgrade.
