Will CHIRP be added to the HELIX 7 or HELIX 9?

I am having a hard time that both Garmin and Lowrance have CHIRP on their 7 and 9" units for the same price as HELIX without CHIRP.

No .... chirp is dependent on the hardware and can't be added with a software upgrade......gotta go to the 12 or Onix to get it.

Humminbird is going with the philosophy that chirp isn't worth it unless you have the high end chirp processor.
The 12 will chirp the standard transducer, but will also utilize the high end chirp transducers.

Be careful if you are considering Garmin.  They are kinda weak in the mapping arena.  They can't utilize any mapping but their own, and the lakes that are mapped high quality are pretty limited.
