Thanks Rickie, but this is not the case. I have been a Humminbird user for 30 years and have liked all my units. I am also , fortunately, quite "tech savvy", so I am really stumped by this issue. I really don't want to send my unit in, since it still works well, for the most part, without this update. I will wait for the next update and see if that one works.
