can I connect my power to my 898 unit to one battery and my 1199 to another battery? Will they still network together? I am thinking about connecting my 898 to one of my trolling motor batteries and my 1199 to my starting battery to take some load off my starting battery. Is this ok to do?

You can and they will still network through the Ethernet connection but i wouldn't connect any sonar unit to the trolling motor batteries for fear of trolling motor interference.
