Topic: My First TowFish

Here is my first run at a tow fish. I have already found some things I want to change for v2. Namely, I want to change the chain to a strip of bar with holes down the length so I can change pitch. I want to sink the traducer in deeper into the notch and make a long (100+') cable.
My boat source has left so I have not been able to test it yet, and I am dying to do so. The Side Scan unit will be an 1198cSi. the primary focus of making the fish is for SAR uses. I have an adjustable depth hull mounted ducer for shallow water, but wanted a fish for deep water surveys.

I think it looks fantastic!  I think the bar would be better but you also need to have an adjustable tow point.

Looks very good.
Is it worth considering placing a small but tough fin immediately in front of the transducer to act as a impact guard?
Shouldn't interfere with the signal.
Pitch control by having the rail with adjustable binding points, as stated in post earlier, definitely a good idea.
