Fay, put the files in a folder that you have decided a specific name upon.  The folder can be a lake name and subfolders can be dates.

Thanks Chuck, if I have 3 or 4 recordings in the same file I would like to name the places I took them.
I figured out how to do it last summer but since then I must have had a brain fart because I can't figure
out how the heck I got the files and sub-files to carry the same name.  Some of the artificial reefs I fish
in the Chesapeake Bay are broken up into different piles of structure.  Fay

Use Windows Explorer(not Internet Explorer).

Right-click on the folder(or file), then select Rename.

If you have a recording file and then multiple recording in the "RECORD" You can move each recording into its own subfile.
That is the .Dat file and the associated record. For example you might have an R000018.dat and the associated record R000018 containing the 6 sonar files. Just copy them over to a file you want named with something you recognize.
