Title: GPX Files
Post by: CSlaten on March 22, 2011, 02:26:11 PM
How does one convert photos taken on SI to a USB card and convert them to GPX files??? MY Humminbird PC (HPC) software/download will not load my photos off the card until I convert them to a GPX file.

Any help of input would be appreciated. I can view the photo's off my card by not with HPC...

gpx only converts the waypoints not the photos as far as I know. You can convert the photos to a jpg and view on your computer. I dont think Humminbird pc will view photos ,only waypoints

I will have to look again at the snapshot files.  I thought snapshots were .jpg and could be read by any photo-software program.  Let me check....

the files created is stored as a .bmp.....you can view in almost any photo program and convert to a number of other file types.

Are you wanting the gps info or the waypoint info....

I am under impression that I could view "snapshots" as uploaded to Humminbird PC software as installed on my personal PC... Is that not true??, or am I mistaken... If so what is the Humminbird PC software good for or to be utilized as???

I am not having trouble viewing my snap shot off my SD card after a day on lake..

Thanks for your input.

Humminbird PC allows you to manage your navigation data from your HB unit. You can organize your waypoints, routes and tracks. You may also view these in Google Earth.
The snapshots will have to be viewed in another external viewer that handles .BMP pictures.

We use a different system but hopefully some of the guys here who are Google experts will post.  If not I will find the answer....
In the meantime go to the main menu and at the top enter google into the tab then hit search.  There is a lot that has been posted on this...

Or with your waypoints and tracks loaded into HumminbirdPC all you have to do is highlight the waypoint or waypoints (works for tracks too) that you want to see and than select the Google Earth icon (last icon on the right) in the menus.
