Suggested Upgrade:	add more readble 2D/DI split screen views.
Explanation:	All SI and DI models of 300, 500, 700 and 600 series have only one 2D/DI  split screen view - horizontal  one: http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/6476/h7g3.jpg (http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/6476/h7g3.jpg) When in boat everybody keep eyes on the right side of the screen, and do not bother about the left side of screen , this is why they preffer using of vertically splitted 2D/DI screen on wich fish is much more visible: http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/8123/icyh.jpg (http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/8123/icyh.jpg)  Three years ago when Humminbird 2D/DI units were the only on the market these units were more or less OK with having just one 2D/DI split screen view. Now three more sonar companies offer 2D/DI sonars with up to five 2D/DI split views, and they are adjustable! : http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/2140/uwhg.jpg (http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/2140/uwhg.jpg) Now there is no need to go to bigger screens, and to buy big heavy batteries, when there are available more readable views on the same screens 2D/DI units of other companies. Please review the opportunity to add more 2D/DI split screen views, or just replace that good for nothing horizontal splitting with better one.

I see you got it posted Vik...

Now it's just "wait and see"...

Some wish list items have been granted expediately...some never have...

At least HB gives it's customers a place to list ideas...(well really Robert gives us the place...but HB reads here :) )...

In my opinion the value of 2D/DI split screen views on SI and DI units is in availability to see fish on both views simultaneously, and compare theirs arcs and dots for more efficient fish definition. I do not know any advantage of what horizontal splitting provides for seeing structure or fish:

the structure can be much better seen on full DI view that is available, and the fish can be much better seen and compared on vertical splitting:

Humminbird provides this view at bigger screens, but it does not make big difference in the views on large screens. It is critical for smaller screens, and all sonar companies realized this, but the originator did not.
