Sonar Tab Missing Helix 7 G3N

(1/1)

Shaggy_SB5:
Good day all,

Just purchased the ice conversion kit for my Helix 7 G3N GPS MDI unit.  The Helix is updated to the latest 2.660 software and worked fine on the open water.  Here are my issues:

1.  When I first connected the XI 9 1521 CHIRP ice transducer, as per the instructions I selected this transducer on the sonar tab under connected transducer.  It worked fine but now the option for the XI 9 1521 CHIRP ice transducer does not exit.  Only Wide Chirp and 80/233 options.  Humminbird said this was a change in 2.440 in that Wide Chirp is the same as the 1521.  I don't believe that as it showed up initially under 2.660 and would not self correct itself.

2.  In ICE Mode, when I select the SONAR OFF then ON, the sonar tab disappears on the menu.  The only way I can get it back is to RESTORE DEFAULTS (Which sends it back to OPEN WATER) then select ICE MODE.  The tab is back until I select the SONAR OFF then ON.

I have been in contact with HUMMINBIRD and they are investigating.

Has anyone else experienced any of the above issues?  If so, do you have a fix?

Thanks in advance!

My response from Hbird

The Sonar Menu Bug is being tracked and it will be fixed in the next software update.

The NMEA2k Views appearing in Ice Mode is being tracked and it will be fixed in the next software update.”

Returning the unit for repair or replacing the unit will not fix software bugs. In the interim Humminbird appreciates your patience until the next update is released as we do not have an official release date at this time

Same problem here with my Helix 7 MSI GPS G3N and software 2.440 Sonar config menu item disappears at switching off sonar. My temp solution, just reboot and it's back. Lately the message "Water Level Offset is set to 0m" appears and disappears after 10 sec. I have no idea why.

Shaggy_SB5:
Make sure you contact Humminbird with the problem.  If they get enough calls with the same problem, it will push them to publish and updated software.
