HBPC and Google Earth

I see where others have asked about this same issue, but it's been a while and I don't see where there was ever resolution. I have a new PC and installed the latest versions of HBPC and GE Pro. The first time I used HBPC it couldn't find GE and it prompted me to point to the  location. I think I may have pointed it to the wrong location. Nothing happens when I click on the GE icon in HBPC. Even after deleting and re-installing HBPC and GE, I've never received the prompt again to point HBPC to the location of GE. Does anyone know how to manually change this setting? Has anyone figured out a work around? Thanks!

rnvinc:
After deleting HBPC and GE Pro -> run Disk cleanup in Windows  ...

Then reinstall GE Pro and leave it running (but minimized)  ...

Then reinstall HBPC, import or create a waypoint, highlight the waypoint blue, then test the GE globe icon at the top of HBPC  ...

Report back  ...

Hi Rickie. I did everything you suggested. Once GE Pro and HBPC were re-installed, I created a new waypoint and nothing happens when I click on the GE icon (I do get a very brief spinning circle "loading" icon). After this didn't work, I tried re-booting. I then opened GE first before opening HBPC. No change. Any other suggestions? Thanks for the assistance!

rnvinc:
Are you clicking on the waypoint to highlight it blue before clicking the GE globe icon  ...??

Rickie

fishesman:
Yes, I'm selecting the WP before I click on the GE icon. I've also tried importing a file of waypoints that previously worked and clicked on "waypoints" in the left column, which normally results in all the waypoints in a file being displayed in GE. This didn't work either. I also tried using an uninstaller that supposedly cleans deeper than the one that comes with Windows to remove HBPC and then reinstalled it. Still no luck. I went back to Humminbird's webpage to make sure I had the latest version of HBPC (I do) and noticed that I need Java for HBPC to work properly. I checked my new PC and found that I didn't have Java at all. I thought for sure this must be my problem, but after installing it and rebooting, still no dice. This is very frustrating!
