Topic: brigting your screen problems

I hear some guys are saying the screen is to dark. I have a same problem but my SI screen is brighter on the right side then the left. Came to find out (playing with unit) That the light bulb in the back of the screen is on the right side. Thats why the right side is always brighter then the left side. If you but your dim backgorund light on 1 you will still see light on the right side and no light on the left side of screen. So if you put your light on 10. it will be much brigther on the right side then the left.
I think humminbird should of but light in middle of screen and not to the right side.

Could be you have an issue with your unit. I for sure notice the too dim screen, but it's even on both sides of the SI display, as well as the other displays. Maybe you have a burned out/defective light?

i wouldn't think that these units screens have "blubs"...
