Title: Loading waypoints after the 6.180 software update
Post by: Humminbird_Greg on April 25, 2012, 03:49:04 PM
Just looking for information here as to everyone's experience with loading waypoints to their units after updating to the 6.180 (Waypoint Management) software.

I recently boat a boat with a 898 si unit and am having a terrible time importing files onto unit. I used gpsbabel to convert my csv file to a .hwr file, and can see that the file is on the data card but it will not auto read when placed in the unit. Am I missing a step?

Thank you for your help

HB core unit waypoint data must be in a folder titled MATRIX on the SD card for the unit to recognize there is Nav data on that SD card  ...

Try creating a new folder on the SD card titled MATRIX (all caps) - then drag and drop your hwr file into that MATRIX folder  ...(I think I remember doing this before) ..

If that doesn't work - the hwr data would need to be imported into Humminbird PC and then exported back onto the SD card  ... HBPC will automatically create the MATRIX folder on the SD card during exporting the Nav data back to the SD card  ...
