Title: Terrova Transducer
Post by: Kenneth Wright on February 23, 2013, 09:11:53 PM
New member, no dumb new member, I bought a used Terrova 80/AP/US2, which has a transducer on the foot.
I have a small pontoon boat with the wife's little HB153 tranducer attached in the rear. I have bought a 789ci and had
the tranducer in back on other side pontoon but I think I'm getting cross-talk. I really don't have any place up front to
mount it. My question is-the terrova transducer, can I use it by buying an adapter and get side imaging? I would appreciate
any help I can get, Thanks in advance Ken

The US2 transducer in the Terrova is only for 2D and will not work for SI.

Thanks for the reply, I was afraid of that. guess I'll go back to the drawing board and try to find a location. I have never been real happy
with what I see but I'm sure it is my fault. Is it a sure bet with two transducers within 5' of one another with same frequency that they will interfere with each other? Could I get a "Y" cable and run the 798 & 153 off the 798 transducer? Thanks Ken

The Y-cables do not work like that Kenneth.  There is no Y-cable or switch that will allow both units to use the same transducer at the same time.  Transducer Switches allow either unit to work with a transducer but not both at once.

You can try turning the Noise Filter menu on and up on the 798 unit to filter out the sonar cross-talk.  This is called the Filter menu on the 153 unit.

Thanks, I had looked at that but didn't know what frequency it would filter out. I'll give it a try. Thaks again!!!!!!!!!!!
