Title: 6.180 issue
Post by: boec0020 on April 22, 2012, 06:24:12 PM
I recently updated by 958c to version 6.180 and ever since, my GPS stopped working.

On the GPS Diagnostic view, the screen flashes and it drops all of the satellites and then it blinks again and it locks on a signal. It does this in sequence.

Anyone have this issue with the new update? Is there any chance I can remove the update? Thanks

The 6.180 has problems with several of the units.
You could download a previous version and see if that fixes the problem.
I just noticed we dont have any code for the 958 on the forum.
Do you have anything else connected to the 958?

The 958 is not connected to anything.

Can I remove the update? Does resting the unit to factory default settings do this?

You cannot remove the update per se.
However you can install a previous code and that will replace the current loaded code.
It is suggested that you restore factory defaults prior to and immediately after a code change.
Newer code is supposed to do that for you but it may be wise to do it anyway manually.
Restore defaults just positions the unit to accept an update and to restore any thing the install may have done that is not normal for the user..
Can you get a previous code?
I am trying to get my hands on the last and the current for this forum. If we can get that then you can download from here..

We put a back level for the 1197.  still waiting on a  copy of the back level for the 1198.
You may want to send in to HB.
