Title: Helix 10 Mega+SI recording sonar data
Post by: Ruud on February 28, 2019, 08:45:37 AM
Can someone tell me if I have to turn off the 2D CHIRP for the sonar recordings on my Helix 10 Mega+SI G3 and turn on the 2D FULL (210 kHz) or NARROW (210kHz) frequentie? On the G2N is CHIRP OFF and the 200kHz (or 83/200kHz) beam necessary to get hardness and vegetation information. The G3 doesn't have that choise. The manual does not provide any clarity about this.

Yesterday I made a recording in an area where I had not made any recordings yet. Made the recordings as mentioned  above.
I think the "dat"-recordings were made correctly. I did not try the other settings for the 2D-beams yet.
The only problem I encountered was in Autochart PC; there seem to be a number of blind spots (not in the raw data) after creating the map. After updating the Zeroline card there where no blind spots to see on my Helix (???). Someone an idea what the cause may be in AC-PC?
Excuses for my bad English!
